As a non-profit ministry of the ELCA, Portico Benefit Services is guided by an elected Board of Trustees and a team of executive leaders with a deep commitment to serving those who serve.

Board of Trustees

A board of 17 trustees governs Portico Benefit Services and the administration of its assets. As stewards to the ELCA, trustees share their financial and managerial expertise, professional integrity, and dedication to God and this church. Trustees are elected to serve a three-year term, with up to two consecutive re-elections, at the ELCA’s triennial Churchwide Assembly — this church’s highest legislative authority.

Church Benefits Association Involvement

The Church Benefits Association (CBA) is a voluntary membership association representing nearly 200,000 local faith communities. The CBA is composed of church pension boards, religious orders, and denominational benefit programs for clergy and church professionals.

The CBA’s mission is dedicated to promoting excellence and preserving the traditions of church benefit boards and church benefit plans through nonpartisan education, collaboration, and fellowship.

Portico plays an active role in the CBA and has considerable visibility as one of the larger groups affiliated with the association. Current CBA leadership positions held by Portico leaders include:
