Tammy Oechsle

Business Development Director

Tammy partners with Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) congregations, Lutheran colleges and universities, and faith-based organizations to expand access to health, retirement, and financial wellness benefits through Portico. As the benefits ministry of the ELCA, Portico helps those who serve to live well – financially, emotionally, and physically.

With more than 15 years of experience in employee benefits, insurance, and health care, Tammy has a track record of helping organizations navigate complexity and implement strategies that support employee well-being. She is known for her collaborative, consultative approach that focuses on understanding each organization’s unique needs and connecting people to the right solutions.

Prior to joining Portico, Tammy held account management and well-being leadership roles at HealthPartners and Western National Insurance. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota, along with a health and accident insurance producer license. She also is a Certified Wellness Program Manager.

Outside of work, Tammy enjoys spending time with her four adult children and is happiest near the water, out for a run, or walking and talking with friends.
