Grounded in Faith, Aligned in Service

We understand and share values that drive the calling to serve. We live out our mission serving churches and congregations, colleges and universities, and social ministry organizations so that you have the ability to focus on your mission.

Called to Serve. Church Together

Portico was created as a nonprofit ministry of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) with the purpose of serving ELCA-affiliated ministries and organizations like yours.

You dedicate your life to serving the most vulnerable, teaching future generations, and sacrificing for the benefit of others. Our role is to help organizations steward resources wisely while caring for their staff. We serve by offering quality, affordable employee benefits designed specifically to help our members strengthen their overall well-being, find resilience, and live into their calling.

Faith in Action

Serving our members with genuine, warm, customer care is one way that we demonstrate and share the love of Christ with others through our actions. Excellent customer service is one of our strengths, and we’re humbled to have been recognized with Top Contact Center and Center of Excellence awards for it. We apply our skills and knowledge to the task of negotiating with third-party providers and administration of benefits plans to reduce the burden on employers so they can care for their employees and customers.

Stewardship

We believe ministries are stronger when God’s people are good stewards of the gifts God has given — including health and well-being. Caring for our own well-being allows us to show up with strength, courage, vulnerability, compassion, and grace in the service of others.

As a ministry of the ELCA, Portico provides benefits programs to enhance the total well-being of those who serve in faith-based organizations throughout their working years and in retirement while stewarding the limited resources of nonprofit organizations and members.
