The Product Business Analyst & Reporting Consultant strategically and creatively thinks about how the consumer experience should work and translates the product vision into product requirements. The Reporting Consultant is responsible for analyzing customer and vendor data to inform the product development and management teams of trends, establishing collaborative relationships with external and internal stakeholders, and evaluating product performance for enhancements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze the effectiveness of health plan programs using internal and external data
  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly management reports
  • Assist with plan experience studies and related reporting
  • Actively pursue and implement analyses and processes to operate more efficiently
  • Respond to customer requests for analysis
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to gather, analyze, and validate applicable data from all sources (clients, prospects, and potential customers) to identify market characteristics, needs, and problems (for example, market opportunities, trends, user preferences, industry standards, and internal product trends)
  • Develop and demonstrate a solid understanding of the competitive landscape
  • Collaborate with internal and external business constituents on product inquiries; may be project-based and involve working within multiple product functions
  • Understand and comply with Portico’s governance, risk, and compliance standards, including internal controls, regulatory compliance, and policy compliance


  • Capacity to work with minimal guidance, seeking guidance on only the most complex tasks or where necessary
  • Comfortable and capable of influencing stakeholders, listening actively, and speaking and writing clearly
  • Demonstrated operational problem-solving, process development, and consensus building experience
  • Ability to translate product, operational design, and clinical situations to actionable and scalable solutions across the broad organization
  • Ability to prepare, process, and analyze data
  • Ability to organize information
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint skills


  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a field that demonstrates product management capabilities such as management, economics, or business


  • 5+ years of experience in a related job
  • Health care or financial services experience and knowledge preferred
